![]() Carole Carniel and Philippe Villa have united their talent to form an original and arresting duet. The history of their two instruments is too rich to evoke it in detail; however the union of the two is something rare. Indeed at the end of the 18th century we can find duets for Piano-Forte and Guitar (Gatayes-Aubert.) and during the 19th century this combination will be in vogue in the concert salons from Vienna to Paris. Famous virtuoso players of that time (Carulli in Paris, Giuliani, Moscheles and Hummel in Vienna, Mertz in Pressburg) write a lot of pieces for the Guitar-Piano duet. Carole Carniel and Philippe Villa wish to make you discover this repertoire by proposing programs on ancient instruments(Piano-Forte Pleyel 1830 and Erard 1840, Guitar Coffe-Goguette 1835 and Antonio Torres 1888) that illustrate the evolution of their instruments. The repertoire of our century allows the duet Guitar-Piano to shine with spanish and southamerican colors (Tedesco, Villa-Lobos, Santorsola, Brouwer) and offer a kaleidoscope of modern music. To turn aside from the beaten track, to propose rare repertoires, to dive back in the 19th century atmosphere festive and refined, to make romantic instruments sound but also to play compositions of our century and to induce new ones, to bring you share those moments of joy and discovery: this is our ambition. ![]() |
